Ten months after they fell in love by the sea in Margaret River, blind Brazilian surfer Derek Rabelo married his fiancee in an intimate ceremony in the South West.
Rabelo, 24, who was born blind from congenital glaucoma, has conquered the famed Pipeline break in Hawaii and surfed alongside the likes of Kelly Slater.
Footage of him tackling Pipeline in 2012 went viral, inspiring filmmaker Bryan Jennings to produce a documentary on him called Beyond Sight.
In April, Rabelo was in Perth for a speaking tour when German student Madeline Kunert caught his attention by tripping over his foot at Victory Life Centre.
